FAQs
How does the review process work?
After meeting with me to talk about scope and desired outcome you submit video you would like to have reviewed. Based on your goals this could be a week of practice or an entire tournament you competed in. After reviewing the footage and breaking down the information inside I put it together into a report. With report in hand we meet again to talk through the information I found as well as me being available to answer any questions you have regarding the information.
How much footage should I have reviewed?
It is best to have at least a tournaments worth of footage be reviewed. Five to six pool-length bouts and two to three direct elimination bouts is best. You want to have enough footage that you can get a good idea of trends and habits in your fencing. But you also don’t want to have too much footage that would have different trends and habits on different days or tournaments. It’s best to submit a moment in time. For example, one tournament or one continuous week of training.
Does this replace my regular coach?
Absolutely not. The best way to use this is to take what you are working on with your coach and use these reviews to check and see if you are accomplishing what they want. Alternatively you can use these reviews to bring back to your coach with questions or areas you need further clarification on in the future. In no way am I trying to become your new coach.
